This appears to be a high-quality sleeping bag which is very comfortable and warm.

The Eureka Casper sleeping bag is excellent. It is warm, light weight and compact. It is a great bag for camping or backpacking. The included compression sack allows it to fit into an internal frame backpack. It is large enough for an adult to fit into but small and light enough for a youth to easily carry. It satisfies the temperature rating and makes staying warm enough possible. To receive these qualities at the affordable price was amazing.

This is an amazing product and it is an absolute steal for the price it’s being offered at. I slept outside in 35 degree weather and was completely warm and have yet to take it down closer to 15, but my guess is that it would do just fine. Packs down to a nice, small, compact size that would fit perfectly in most any UL backpack and the stuff sack has a great compression system. The only draw back would be that if you’re a big guy, tall or round, it might be a little tight around the knees/chest. This doesn’t affect me at all however and I can’t believe I got such a great bag at such a low price. Definitely recommend.

Great bag! Very light and yet very warm. Fits very well in bottom of back pack. Great addition to supplies for backpacking campouts and hikes.

These sleeping bags are awesome! They are light weight and soft and compact well. I love how you can zip two of them together, even a long and a regular size. They zip together around the shin area. so you each still have your own foot area but you can still snuggle. I have not had a chance to test them out as far as the 15 degree rating goes but I’ll bet they are toasty.

I had four requirements when searching for a sleeping bag for a recent camping trip. The bag needed to be compact, light, moderately priced, and warm. The first three this bag passed with flying colors but the fourth it came up a little short. Based on the price and reviews I choose this Eureka bag and overall I was impressed. The bag is light and the stuff sack works great plus it fits nicely into the lower pocket of my hiking backpack. The bag itself feels nice and it has a few touches like a Velcro strap to hold the zipper handle and an internal pocket that makes it feel like a more expensive product. As far as warmth goes it did pretty well. On my trip the first night it got down into the mid 30’s and the bag kept me warm. The second night it got down to about freezing and I woke up early in the morning a little chilly. I grabbed a couple of hand warmers, tossed them in the bag and I was warm again. The 15 degree rating may be overly optimistic but I would say that if you are going to be in above freezing temps then this bag will be fine. However if you will be getting into much colder temps you may want to invest in a higher end goose down bag.
I could see this bag being tight around the shoulders if you are a bigger guy/girl. I’m 6′2 and about 170 lbs and the bag fit me fine. I actually went with the long but it is a little too long… I would have been better off with the regular. Also, I would recommend paring any sleeping bag with a light weight pad (preferably self-inflating) to help with comfort and warmth.

Nice bag with nice features. I’m 6′-3″ 240 lbs, if you’re bigger or wider than me, don’t buy this bag! I manage but it’s not roomy around the arms/chest.
I’ve tested this bag pretty thoroughly. I tried it with a nice sleeping pad and *no* wind at 20F, I was comforable at first but started to chill enough to wake me up about 5 hours in. Don’t get me wrong, if you’re protected from wind and moisture and have a good sleep pad, at 15F you’ll probably live, but not quite comfy. Still this is a backpacking sleeping bag, and most people don’t choose to backpack in winter conditions. If you have to, put on a couple layers of expedition-weight polypro, a couple pair of wool socks and a balaclava and you’ll have no trouble meeting or exceeding that +15f rating.
As reported by others, it fits well in the sleeping bag compartment of my pack. Comes with a very nice, effective compression sack. I bought the Long and there’s plenty of length for my height.
What else to say? If it was down it would be either half the size (when compressed), or 20F warmer, and at least twice the price. Also, because this is a synthetic bag, it dries much faster than a down bag, and works better when damp. To an extent “you get what you pay for” but on it’s own this is a nice, 3-season backpacking sleeping bag, which I’d have no problem recommending to others. Tempted to buy the similar 0-bag and +30 bag in the same series!

I am a 6′3″ 225lb. male and not exactly a cold sleeper. I bought this bag because it was an excellent price-weight-cold weather rating ratio. However, on one night that reached 18-20 degrees F, I found myself to be shivering in the bag. I would say this bag is great for light weight, but if you are expecting anything less than 25 degrees, select a warmer bag instead of this one. The 15 degree rating is not accurate but the bag is very comfortable otherwise

This is a great sleeping bag for Backpacking, it is lightweight and compresses easily to fit into a sleeping bag compartment of a backpack. Haven’t tested it for 15 degrees but kept us warm on a cold rainy night in June at an elevation of 3500ft. We got completely wet and the outer layer of the sleeping bag also got wet, but it still kept us warm.

I purchased the Casper to use on fall camping trips in the NY Adirondack Mtns. I chose it over the North Face Cat’s Meow due to complaints of that bag’s cold weather performance. I was impressed with the look, feel and overall weight of this bag. With a little effort, it compresses nicely into it’s tiny stuff sack taking up far less space in my backpack than my previous bag. When you take it out, it quickly becomes lofty again!
October 19, 2009, 9:06 amDuring my recent trip, the overnight temps fell to the mid 30’s and I remained comfortable. I sleep in a 2 man dome tent and use a canvas “Allagash” cot. When I added a thermal sleeping pad, I felt almost as if I were sleeping in my bed at home!
This bag is very comfortable with lots of toe space but tends to be tight in the chest area. I am 5′10″ 220 lbs and feel near the limit of it’s capacity. If you are a larger person or just prefer more room, you should consider a different bag.
At 1/3 the cost of most comparable bags, the Casper is a great value and has the weight, size and features of the more expensive bags. If the fit is right, I highly recommend it.
